The <a href="http://www.alois.com/" target="_blank" title="Alois Alzheimer Center®"><span style="color: blue;">Alois Alzheimer Center®</span></a> of <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Cincinnati</st1:place></st1:city>, part of the <a href="http://www.hcmg.com/">Healthcare ManagementGroup</a>, recently received perfect survey results from the <a href="http://www.odh.ohio.gov/" target="" title="Ohio Department of Health"><span style="color: blue;">Ohio Department of Health</span></a>. This marks an
unprecedented trend among <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ohio</st1:place></st1:state>
long term care and residential care facilities.<br />
<br />
This is Alois’ seventh consecutive year deficiency-free surveys. The Ohio
Department of Health routinely conducts unannounced compliance surveys. These
surveys occur between nine and fifteen months since a facilities last annual
survey. If deemed necessary, other surveys may occur by the Ohio Department’s
discretion.<br />
<br />
In 2012 the Ohio Department of Health conducted 728 annual surveys. Of these
only 15% of facilities across <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ohio</st1:place></st1:state>
were deemed to be in full compliance with all standards of care and services.
In 2011 the number of perfect annual surveys conducted by the Ohio Department
of Health was 877. The percentage of facilities receiving no deficiencies was
only 12%. Of these receiving perfect surveys only Alois has received perfect
surveys over the last seven consecutive years.<br />
<br />
The State of <st1:state w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Ohio</st1:place></st1:state>
used this survey process to determine if Alois satisfactorily meets all
criteria required for operating a skilled nursing facility. Issues covered
evaluating staffing levels, in-depth evaluation of patient care,
appropriateness and competencies of medical services, extent and depth of
employee training, and adherence to resident rights. Also evaluated during the
survey includes the quality of food service operations, thoroughness of
housekeeping and laundry services. Finally, time was spent inspecting overall
compliance with various aspects of resident and facility safety policies and
practices.<br />
<br />
<b>About the Alois Alzheimer Center</b><em>®</em>:<br />

solely dedicated to the understanding, care and service of Alzheimer’s disease.
Since then, Alois has built a reputation on innovative programs, award-winning
services and perfect survey results. Families consistently show their
appreciation by scoring the facility in the 98th percentile on overall
satisfaction and willingness to recommend Alois to others. As their name

Kathy states she is "humbled and honored to receive this recognition." As a valued employee of over 18 years at the Alois Alzheimer Center, Kathy worked in various roles before discovering that the STNA position was where she belonged. Her daily interactions with residents, family members and co-workers are a very rewarding part of her job. Kathy said she is "proud to be associated with the best Alzheimer Center in Cincinnati." For Kathy care of the residents is her number one priority, and to work with genuine people that care, as she does, is a gift. She looks forward to volunteering during her off time to help with resident outings. She believes strongly that, "normal time away from the Center needs to be part of the resident's daily life," and helps to make that happen.<br /><br />For the care, time and devotion she gives to the Alois Alzheimer Center, we are proud to honor her with, The Employee of the Quarter! She was very curious about this Canines occupation and wanted to meet him. Betty's daughter, Janet arranged for Otis to make a personal appearance at the Alois Alzheimer Center to visit Betty and other residents.<br /><br />"King Otis the First" was born on December 6, 2007. Otis was hand chosen by Gwen Mooney from a local breeder to be the Grief Therapy Dog for the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home located inside Spring Grove Cemetery. Otis is a Yellow Labrador Retriever with a certified Pedigree with the American Kennel Club. He helps some families find comfort in their time of need, and will sit for arrangements, visitations and funerals. Otis lives with Gwen and her family, and comes to work with Gwen each day.
